Get to  know me.

My interest in understanding how people's thoughts affect their lives began while attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After college, my motivation and desire to assist others eventually led me to get my license in Clinical Social Work in 2003. I have provided services in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient counseling,  behavioral health emergency services, school-based programs, and wilderness experiences. My role in these programs has varied from direct service provider to clinical director, and it has allowed me to work with individuals from various communities and cultures across Alaska.
My practice is called Midnight Sun Counseling and Consulting to honor the location where my desire to do this work began.   In addition, the "Midnight Sun" is a pretty cool symbol of the changing seasons. When not working, I enjoy reading, cooking, exploring the outdoors, tinkering,  traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
