GET TO KNOW ME

My interest in trying to understand how people’s thoughts affect their lives first began while attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  After college, my motivation and desire to assist others eventually lead me to getting my license in Clinical Social Work in 2003.
I have provided services in a variety of settings to include inpatient and outpatient counseling, behavioral health emergency services, school-based programs, and wilderness experiences.  My role in these programs has varied from direct service provider to clinical director, and allowed me the opportunity to work with individuals from various communities and cultures from across Alaska.
My practice is called Midnight Sun Counseling and Consulting to honor the location of where my desire to do this work began.   In addition, the “Midnight Sun” is a pretty cool symbol of the changing seasons.  When I am not working, I enjoy reading, cooking, exploring the outdoors, tinkering, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
